How to Choose the right E-Commerce Solution for your business

Webika Design is a website design company, and our main specialty is ecommerce solutions. Nowadays, there are so many shopping carts available on the market that it can be very challenging to choose the right solution. All the companies say they provide the "World best solution", but who do you trust and how do you know that this is the "best solution"? Since we work with ecommerce every day, we have decided to create a little guide for people who is looking to start an ecommerce business.

There are two types of the shopping cart solutions:
a. Hosted Solution
b. Full Source Licensed Solution

Hosted solution means that you will keep all the files on company's (Solution Provider) server.

The Pros of hosted shopping cart are:

1.       Much lower price for the solution

2.       Usually very friendly back end interface

3.       Support from the company provider. Of course, the provider will not create the template for you for free, but if you run into some technical questions they will be able to help you.

The Cons of the hosted shopping cart are:

1.       Limited design options

2.       No access to the source files.

3.       Limited quantity of the products

This means that Web Design Company will not be able to change the layout of the shopping cart in the checkout process and some of the core layout elements of the shopping cart. I am not saying that it is not possible at all, but to do it the designer will need to use Javascript and CSS tricks, which on my mind is not the best option.

If you have around 100-200 products it will cost small price, if it exceeds specific amount the monthly fees will increase.

Usually monthly fees for hosted solution run in a range of $30-$120. Here are some hosted shopping carts: Volusion, Big Commerce.

If you do not have any custom requirements the hosted solution may be a good choice for your store.

If you have specific design, layout requirements Full Source Shopping cart is the best solution. First of all, when you purchase the full source license the code is owned by you. If you would like to switch to different hosting company you can easily do it and your store will not be affected by it.  Secondly, you can customize the cart anyway you need, and add unlimited quantity of the products.

The full source shopping carts run in the price range of $400 and up.  Here is the list of the full source shopping carts

Magento Commerce (Personally the best solution on the market)

  • ShopSite

  • CubeCart

  • Agora Cart

  • Zen Cart

  • Os Commerce

  • StoreSprite

  • OpenCart

  • PrestaShop

  • UberCart

  • VirtueMart

  • Avactis

  • BusinessCatalyst

  • Wordpress

  • MagellanCommerce

  • ShopSite

  • ViArt

  • InterSpire

  • 3dCart

  • Shopify

  • AsShop

  • StoreFront

  • ASPdotnetstorefront

  • MivaMerchant

  • SunShop

  • Fortune3

  • GoEmerchant

  • I-Store

  • Network Solutions

  • X-Cart

  • MerchandiZer Pro

Based on my experience it is expensive to go with the full source shopping cart, but on my mind it is only first impression. The hosted shopping cart monthly fees will run about $80, and to create a custom design will cost about $2,500-5,000. If you use Full source shopping cart the monthly hosting fees will cost around $40 and the design will run in about the same price as for the hosted solution. So the full source license will cost you maybe $1,000-$2,000 in the beginning, but you will save money at the end, and you will be very flexible with the design, products, etc.

If you decide to create online store, be specific with what you want. Think about your business model, expectations, etc. Remember, you are creating not only the ecommerce store; you are creating online business. Online competition is very big and you want to make sure that if the visitor comes to your store he becomes your customer. You need to allure the visitor with the design, user-friendly navigation, promotions, etc. Web Design Company will always help you to create powerful business strategy based on your clients and expectations.

Webika Design provides training after the project is completed. Ecommerce back end is very complex, but with good explanation it is very easy to navigate through and create products, categories, promotions, etc.

If you would like to talk about your online business idea please email us at  support@webika.com with your details and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Constantine

eCommerce for Dynamics GP with Magento, Asp.Net Store Front or Nop Commerce Shopping Carts

E-Commerce shopping cart plug-ins software development industry is reasonably mature.  And instead of programming your new shopping cart and including it as part of eCommerce extension for your Corporate ERP system, we think that it is more practical to give you ecommerce module which integrates automatically with the most popular shopping cart platforms: Magento, Asp.Net Store Front, Nop Commerce.  We are working on extending the list of pre-integrated shopping carts.  Our goal is to give you eCommerce solution, which works natively with Microsoft Dynamics GP Sales Order Processing Invoice or Sales Order.  Please, read this small publication for additional highlights:

1. Multiple eCommerce web sites could work with the same company in Great Plains, while each individual one ecommerce application is assigned to specific GP inventory site.  And plus, each ecommerce site could use its own ecommerce shopping cart: Magento, Asp.Net Store Front or Nop Commerce

2. Alba Spectrum Order Connector technology.  This platform was designed as set of MS SQL Server Stored Procedures, allowing you to integrate Shopping Cart to SOP Order or Invoice instantly

3. Anonymous customers or selling on Account.  This feature comes directly from your Shopping Cart platform and we either integrate anonymous customer with Walk-In customer in GP, or create new customer (or update address for existing customer) if you sell on account in B2B or B2C ecommerce scenarios

4. eCommerce taxes.  These are handled by your chosen ecommerce shopping cart and propagated to Dynamics GP SOP Order Tax section.  If your shopping cart supports international VAT/GST taxes, we should be able to integrate them to SOP document in Great Plains

5. Internationalization and Languages support.  Again - based on Shopping Cart and Dynamics GP localized version availability.  Please, check with your eCommerce Shopping Cart ISV, regarding Great Plains it is available in English in USA, Canada (plus in French Canadian), UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa; in Spanish in Latin America and Caribbean region; in Arabic in Arabian peninsula, Egypt and Northern Africa

6. How to get additional info and help?  Please, call us 1-866-528-0577, 1-630-961-5918 or email us help@albaspectrum.com  Our consultants speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, Filipino.  See our pavilion on Convergence 2011 in Atlanta.  We also plan to demo you eCommerce module working in concert with Warehouse Management System (Barcoding based) in real time for Microsoft Dynamics GP

E Commerce Shopping Cart

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]

Any e-commerce shopping cart that I can implement by just adding a button with a link to the product photos?

I am looking for a e-commerce shopping cart/billing system that I can implement to my site by just adding a link to a button, which I made under the product photos. Since I already made the buttons under the product photos, I need to have the shopping cart/billing system implemented by just adding a link to the button.

Most shopping cart system or ecommerce script requires using of PHP, MYSQL which might be too complex for beginners.

I would suggest A4Desk Shopping Cart Builder (http://www.a4commerce.com) which can build shopping cart very quickly, all you need to do is click few buttons, then you can embed the shopping cart to any of your web page, no any installation or scripting required.

Big Commerce Shopping Cart

BigCommerce – eCommerce Shopping Carts

Online shopping is now very common. Because of the increasing number of online stores on the web today, shopping carts are also gaining much popularity. Conventional businesses are too costly and so many businesspersons are now putting their investments in online stores. The risks involved are also minimal and as long as there is an internet connection, people can now shop conveniently. The shopping cart by BigCommerce is now recognized as one of the easiest eCommerce software. Today, it serves more than 8,956 stores in the World Wide Web.

So why do a lot of online businesses go for the BigCommerce shopping cart?

Customization is quite easy. The designers of the eCommerce software have complete access to CSS (through FTP), HTML, QuickEdit, and other tools. To customize the layout of your own store, you can simply pick among the fifty store designs or you can also use the Drag and Drop Design Mode.

Some store owners find it hard to learn how to use the shopping carts but with BigCommerce, there is no learning curve. With the aid of this eCommerce software, you can easily sell products on the web. If you have no idea how to use the software, you can use the ‘Getting Started Wizard’ and after that, you can now operate your online store together with the shopping cart. With a bit of research, you can find step-by-step videos that you can use just in case you’re stuck or you encounter problems.

SEO experts optimized the eCommerce software. In fact, Aaron Wall (an SEO guru) reviewed BigCommerce and all his feedbacks are now incorporated in this very powerful shopping cart. Just imagine how you can easily outrank all your competitors online!

The eCommerce also has built in intelligence reports that store owners can use. If you need help, BigCommerce can help you in making better business decisions. You get to work less and yet you’re earning more money.

BigCommerce will not penalize stores that tend to sell more. You can sell as many products are you like and the software will not get in the way. There are no transaction fees involved and most all, there are no hidden costs.

The top priority of Big Commerce is the security of online stores as well as the uptime of the shopping carts. Because of this, the software boasts of 99.99% uptime average track record. You can be sure that your store is protected with the same encryption and military-grade security like the large and prominent banks.

This eCommerce software has many features. For the design, the layout customization was already mentioned earlier and aside from that, you can also choose among the many templates, edit CSS and HTML from your browser, upload business logo, edit the email templates, etc.

The features are divided into the design features, SEO features, tax features, in-store features, marketing, support, hosting and security, payment and shipping, content management, search features, order and checkout, product and inventory, import or export, customer, and the reporting features.

Big Commerce is also far better than that of the Yahoo shopping cart and Volusion shopping cart. In terms of monthly price, BigCommerce offers the lowest monthly price of only $24.95 as compared to $39.95 of Yahoo and $29.95 of Volusion. A fifteen day free trial is als available with this new eCommerce software as compared to that of the 14-day trial by Volusion (and Yahoo doesn’t even offer a free trial!). The Drag and Drop Design Mode for easy customization is unique to BigCommerce as well the W3C Complaint Templates, online HTML/CSS editor, and the optimization by SEO gurus. The software offers 46 templates whereas Yahoo offers only 1 and Volusion, 20. This year, BigCommerce is recognized as one of the best shopping carts known today.

By visiting BigCommerce.com, you will be guided accordingly on how to open your very own online store. You can start by determining what you want to sell on the web. If you have a business in your area, then you can make it visible on the net. After choosing the products that you’re going to sell, you will now determine how to ship orders. Will you focus internationally or just locally? Know your shipping methods and jot it down.

Creating your own BigCommerce store is free and you can do this by filling out the form. You will simply provide your full name, organization, email address, phone number, and shop address. After providing the required fields, click on the ‘create my store’ button.

Once you’ve completed the sign up, you will need to decide how you will accept online payments. BigCommerce already has built in payment gateways and you’re free to use them. Picking a domain name is another vital decision and just make it short. You can use the default or you can pick your own domain name.

Various store designs are offered by BigCommerce and you can personalize your store’s layout. With so many designs to choose from, it’ll be easier to pick one that suits your business and requirements.

Use the import wizard Big Commerce to import existing products, categories, photos, and variations. If you no business yet, it’s also easy to add products with the use of the simple wizard and it already comes with descriptions, photos, etc.

Once you’ve completed all these steps, you can now launch your online store and start with the promotions. Add the URL in the marketing materials, invoices, and business cards so that you can effectively promote your new online store. Just in case you need help from the experts of BigCommerce, check out the contact details of the company found at the page’s top portion.

Having a thorough business plan before opening an online business is necessary to ensure success. The eCommerce software of BigCommerce is the perfect solution for your shopping cart needs. Having an automated and efficient payment gateway will make the shopping experience worthwhile for most customers.

If you’re still looking for a shopping cart, it’s time to go for BigCommerce eCommerce software. This is a name you can trust.
