URGENT!! salary negotiation for a new grad in stock market field.?
my friend is a HR and referred me to his company in new york. the position is entry level securities clearance specialist, undergrad requirement. i am a master of economics new grad, no job experience. the position is very unique and i could not find any information about the salary online. he told me that they gonna hire me and will give me a call these few days. he told me that the salary would be 46k+plus overtime before the interview. but since the market is not good, no overtime now. during the interview, i replied that my expected salary would be 46k to 70k when asked. the interviewer said that it is within the range. however, my classmates said that their base salary is at least 60k. i talked to my friend about my expectation. he said that the budget is tight and he pushed hard in order to help me get the job.i really like the job. i wanna ask if there is any room for salary negotiation? how should i start to negotiation?
during these times i would ask for 60K and settle for 55K!!!!
