Ok. I'm starting classes at AIO April 6th for graphic design bs. BUT. I was considering also enrolling at Ashworth College for their Internet Marketing program. From what I understand, its a certificated program, but would it be a wise choice if I did do it? That way I could work with the Internet Marketing Certificate while in art school? I'm trying to get a better job before I graduate. I kept my 1 month old son in mind while coming up with this plan...
Originally I was going to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta, but moving isn't an option right now. Im only doing online classes at AIO until I can move closer to the actual campus.
Online schools kind of have a bad reputation. I'm not too sure about Ashworth College I've never heard of it but it looks like a continuation/ adult training school. If I were you, I would honest pick neither. You can probably learn what you need to by yourself without spending your time and money. I think a better choice would be to pick business that does the kind of work that you want to do in the future and try to work with them. Find a PR agency or a marketing firm and try to get a job/internship with them and then when you have the time and money go to an accredited tradional college after you go to community college (and take online classes there if you need to). A lot of times a business like that will accommodate you while you are going to school.

The Art Institute is a good choice. Save your money and effort and wait to go there. In the mean time get a job a place like I suggested above. Even if it is a distribution or driving or mail room job. Imagine how your ideal future employer would view your resume if you say I worked in the industry in the mail room and then worked my way through art college vs. I worked at McDonald's and I have an online degree.
