When a newcomer to promoting a web business or starting a work at home business online begins this venture what are the most common mistakes they make? This would include any business that involves internet marketing but especially the work from home income opportunity type.
The failure to modify, and test.
You MUST, and I do mean MUST... Test your strategies, looking at the results, and then make modifications again and test again.
Also, most people come into the business with the theory, I'm going to start making $10,000 this month. Unless they have a huge budget to start with, it's not going to happen.
Internet marketing is a game of education, practice, testing, and as my fiancee tells me "Try and Try Until Success".
I spend a fair amount of money on education every month, simply because I don't want to learn all of it by trial and error.
But even with everything I've learned, I still test, and test, and test.. and try new things, and change that, and keep on keeping on..
I want to start an internet cafe. There is not one internet cafe in my town. There are coffee houses, but no internet cafes. With all the "coffee houses' and other places providing free wi-fi and the price of lap tops going down in price, do you think there is a real market for internet cafes in todays marketplace?
Our location will be 1/2 block from the dorms of the State College. Near a few higher end hotels too.
With the way technology is today I don't think so. You can get a wireless connection from your local cell phone company so you really don't need to go to a cafe.Sorry but I think internet cafes are a thing of the past.
Lots of colleges are starting to offer Internet Marketing degrees. Do you think those are worth anything in the real world? What do you think the employment opportunities are for people with those degrees? What do you think the future looks like for them?
I am a firm believer that college is a very good thing, assuming you can pay for it out of pocket and not take out student loans and I honestly think an internet marketing degree is a good idea but it is not the only way to make six figures in internet marketing. In fact, many 6 figure internet marketers dropped out of school and made it work for them but it takes a very strong and focused person to make that happen. I personally have been an IMer for 3 years and only make 3000 a month in residual income and this is working part time and I have an advanced degree. I know I could do more but I personally choose not to put more time and energy in - cause I'm lazy. That said, I do believe a college degree can help you but only if you don't have to go into debt to get it.
