A Business Marketing Online Strategy To Generate Leads

Using the internet to Market your business, service or product can be overwhelming as there are so many different avenues to take. Everyone starts by looking at free advertising and rightly so as there are many ways to market for free. However, one will soon discover that paid advertising is more affective to get quicker results.

Below are 4 tips and ideas for small business start up marketing techniques. Use these great marketing strategies to generate leads to promote your Ideas Working From Home.

  1. Foot work. This is where you talk to friends and family, put out flyers, local ads and mail drops. This option is probably the least effective for the amount of time and effort required.

  2. Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising. This is paid advertising through the search engines on the internet and can be very lucrative, but expensive. One really needs to get all the ducks in a row and be Google compliant to use this method.

  3. Media Buyers. This is where one broadcasts adverts throughout areas on the internet. These are paid services – paying to advertise through third party sites. You will see these appearing just about everywhere including on the social media sites. Media buyers are currently really hot. However, advertising this way can be expensive and not ideal for a beginner or novice.

  4. Organic. This is a good area to spend your time educating yourself – especially if starting out. The great thing about organic marketing is that you can do something once, put it out on the internet through different sites and if done correctly should gather pace and see exponential interest. By publishing under a number of different sites is a great way to promote your brand - brand equity. In other words if someone comes across your content and wants to find out more about you, then it's important your name is out there as someone who is reputable and to prove you actually exist.

In respect to the four methods above, there are really three options to focus on and these are PPC, media buyers and organic. It is advantages to use all three methods, but organic marketing serves the best for the long term especially when starting out. These three methods are also used through the internet so can reach out to people all over the world.

So what is meant by organic marketing? In short, this is effectively free or paid marketing. It includes articles, press releases, videos etc produced once but marketed through a number of authority sites. Once done, these could be out there for months or even years which is a great advantage over paid advertising.

Let's look at an example. Consider you wish to publish say 5 Articles. You submit the articles through a number of article directories. You then promote the links through Pinging, RSS Feeds and Social Bookmarking. So with 5 articles, you could create 20 - 30 back links to your site. By doing this you also start to dominate in the search engines.

It is easier to get on page 1 of the Google search engine through organic means compared to if you were trying to get your new domain there. It really does not matter how you get to page 1 and the No. 1 spot just as long as something is there grabbing the interest.

One of the advantages of organic marketing is that you would not get ‘slapped' by Google. However, requirements on the internet change all the time so it is important to keep ahead of anything that may affect you. You need to keep the finger on the pulse with the organic community. Understanding where Google is heading is always a good guide.

People are looking for trust and a real person. They want to hear your story. You will be researched so the more you do, the more reputable you will become. What is making you stand out from all the others?

Using the marketing options above, there are basically three components to getting leads and driving traffic.

1. Targeted key word research. One of the most important areas in order to market is based around ‘keywords'. These are words people are typing into the search engines. You need to know what people are typing otherwise you are wasting your time. More importantly you need to know what the buyers are typing in as oppose to the browsers – there is a difference. Getting the right keywords will help drive traffic and generate leads.

2. Driving Traffic. Once you have the leads, how do you drive these to your site? This is where the different marketing options come in e.g. Web 2.0 marketing, videos, press releases, articles, PPC etc. The aim is to get the prospect to click the link taking them to your site, landing page or blog.

3. Conversion. The aim of the site or landing page should be full of content, relevant and of value. It is here where you are looking to make the conversions, opt in or what ever reason you are driving people to your site.

Everything you do falls into one of the three categories above. Following the flow would help understand what is working and what isn't. If you are not getting the traffic then revisit the keywords. If you are getting the traffic but not the conversions then you need to look at your site.

I'm beginning to think I have come to a set of crossroads in my life - especially with some of the books I keep reading to help me discover what Im really all about and what I really want to do. Over the next year I'm really going to look into this.

I no longer wish to work for any large corporate business and working for myself and gaining financial freedom sounds good to enable me to do the things I really want to do. I feel it is a bit late to be a professional footballer or join Take That. The time has also passed to have purchased $1,000,000 of shares in Microsoft.

Watch this space and see where my future takes me.

5 Things to Avoid in Local Business Marketing Online

The internet is a vast field of information scattered about. Utilizing the sheer number of tools and resources available to start a local business marketing venture may seem like a mismatch as you could always choose to go big and wide right away.

Free web hosting, free tool use for promotions and advertising, free templates, and a whole lot of free stuff online seem like you could just do without starting small and with the basics. However, this is the very attitude why a lot of newcomers in online business fold and close right away.

A lot of newcomers in this field become too comfortable with the initial success acquired with a newly set up local business marketing venture. As a result, the tendency is to become too relaxed and neglect crucial things like maintaining sales leads, as well as develop new ones.

Alongside complacency, overconfidence also gets in the way. There is a big difference in overconfidence and complacency in such a way that the former creates a seemingly fictitious success track as compared to the latter's basis on actual events. Overconfidence makes you think that you will have even further success.
The main difference of regular optimism to being overboard is that the former rests on hope and caution.

The latter rests on a delusion despite risks. While there are some who got through and reaped the rewards with higher risks, calculated risks are still better than gung-ho attitude. Over optimism leads to a local business marketing to spend much for resources than what is needed or perhaps when it would be better to take another course of action. Reality speaking, failure is just always around the corner.

Other things in the life of any businessman are potentials distraction to work. Local business marketing schemes entail focus, time, effort, and a little guile to pull businesses through competition. Letting other activities eat your scheduled work time would most be quite deadly for your business.

One of the most ridiculous instances to think about but still happening nonetheless is letting emotions get in the way. A fight with a loved one or maybe a breakup is one of the most emotionally devastating things to endure. Unfortunately, the only way to go about this is to learn how to control and segregate emotions. Business is business, personal life is another matter.

Local business marketing is mostly about focus and dedication of time in promotion and maintenance of the business itself. Keeping yourself free from both internal and external distractions keep your sanity and productivity in check.
