Does copying book names etc.(not the contents) from other websites,is infringement of cyber laws/copyright act?
In our e-commerce site for books, we wish to copy name of books,author,images,price ,description etc. (Not the contents of the book) from some other web site. Are we infringing any law like cyber laws or copyright acts etc.
Copyright only protects creative work. From what you are describing, you are intending to copy non-creative content, which alone is not protected under copyright. That being said, the presentation and arrangement of even non-creative content can still be protected under copyright. See, e.g., the Feist case linked below.
