What is the best e-commerce payment provider?

Hello,
can you recommend me a good payment provider for my e-commerce shop?
What do you think about authorize.net

Authorize.Net is not a processor. They are a payment gateway. Basically they act like a credit card terminal does in a retail store. It sends the transaction to your merchant account provider and gets a response whether the transaction is approved or declined. Without the merchant account Authorize.Net can't do anything.

As far as choosing a merchant account goes you have lots of options. Your first decision will be to decide between a third party processor like Paypal or a true merchant account. There are lots of factors involved in making this decision and I linked to an article that will walk you through that process.

If you choose a true merchant account make your decision based on price. They all ultimately do the exact same thing and customer service is not a selling point as you should rarely, if ever, need to use them. But your rates can mean the difference of hundreds or thousands of dollars a month and can make a huge differenvce in your bottom line.
